VER is filling two priority clinical roles for the upcoming project. Donations and in-kind support help provide the equipment, supplies, and operational support the project requires.

VER welcomes interest from qualified volunteers in each of the roles below. For the September 30 through October 5, 2026 project, an eye-experienced scrub tech and a PACU nurse are the current priorities.
Applicants should be prepared to provide the licenses, certifications, and professional references required for their role and by Peruvian health authorities.

What VER covers, and what volunteers arrange.
VER arranges the in-country logistics listed below. Volunteers cover their own airfare, travel insurance, evening meals, and participation contribution.
- Round-trip airfare to Piura, Peru
- Emergency medical and evacuation travel insurance
- Evening meals, apart from the welcome and farewell dinners
- Participation contribution
Coordinate your arrival at Piura airport with VER so ground transportation can be arranged. Details are current as of July 2026 and remain subject to change.

What to know before volunteering.
Do I need a clinical background?
Surgical roles require the relevant professional credentials and experience. Vision-screening projects may include additional support roles, depending on current needs.
Do I need to speak Spanish?
Not every role requires Spanish, but fluent or bilingual English-Spanish interpreters are part of the project team. Spanish is helpful for screening work.
Are the 2026 dates confirmed?
Yes. The project is scheduled for September 30 through October 5, 2026. VER is coordinating the remaining staffing and project details with volunteers and local partners.
When will I receive the full project details?
Confirmed volunteers receive a welcome and orientation packet with project-specific details.
